Summer Vacation - The Longest Break

The summer vacation (travel season) is three months long (June, July, August).
This is when students take a break and families travel together. Tourist destinations become lively with many activities.

    What to Expect in Summer

    • Beach trips are very popular to escape the heat.
    • Mountain destinations are cooler and offer beautiful nature.
    • The International Fireworks Festival in Da Nang (DIFF) takes place during this time.

From my experience, summer in Vietnam feels energetic and full of movement, especially in coastal cities.

    Lunar New Year (Tet Festival)

Tet is the most important holiday in Vietnam, lasting around 7–9 days.
It usually takes place in February and marks the transition to a new year.
I personally love the atmosphere during Tet. Streets are decorated with flowers, flags, and colorful symbols, creating a very festive feeling.

    • People will get 1 day off for this holiday.

Hung Kings’ Festival (10th day of the 3rd lunar month)

    • On this national celebration for the first Kings of Vietnam, everyone here gets 1-2 days off.

    • Two important national holidays of Vietnam, and of course, 2 days off at least.

These shorter holidays are also good chances to travel, but popular destinations can be crowded.
