Danang Food Guide 2025: 7 Famous Dishes You Must Try
When many people mention Danang, they think of the spectacular beaches. However, I'll let you in on a little secret: food is a good reason. With all the seafood and other street snacks, each dish is a taste of Central Vietnam.
Join VIET DOVE Travel as we explore the most famous foods in Danang that you must try in 2025.

Bun Cha Ca. The Taste of the Sea H3: What is Bun Cha Ca?
This authentic noodle soup serves delicious fish cakes made from mackerel, flying fish, or barracuda. The broths are boiled with fish bones, pumpkin, pineapple, and tomatoes, giving them a deliciously sweet taste.

Che Lien. The Sweet Soup of Danang
If you are visiting Danang in the hot season, nothing will beat a cold, refreshing bowl from Che Lien.
Must-Try
One dish you must try, if you like durian, is the locally famous Durian Sweet Soup (Che Sau Rieng). The dish is a delicious combination of durian, smooth coconut milk, jackfruit, and jelly.
It is sweet, creamy, and fragrant without being overwhelming. The durian is more subtle. Not a durian fan, no problem, ask the staff to leave it out.
Other Favorites
Che Khuc Bach (almond panna cotta style with lychee)
Coconut jelly and pandan jelly
Thai sweet soup (without durian)
Yogurt with a cheese topping

Banh Trang Cuon Thit Heo. Pork Wrapped in Rice Paper
This is quickly becoming one of the most loved foods in Danang.
How to Eat Like a Local
Take a rice paper. Soak it in a bit of water. Place some boiled pork slices, add some fresh herbs, and roll them up. Make sure to dip it in the fish sauce. Fresh, simple, and delicious, it represents the essence of good food in Central Vietnam.

Danang Seafood. The Pride of the Coast
Living by the sea means you can have the luxury of a wide selection of fresh seafood.
Grilling Seafood
Lobster, oysters, clams, squid - grilled seafood is a highlight because the natural sweetness of the ocean comes alive when you grill seafood.
Hotpot With Seafood
The broth is light, cooked with pineapple, tomato, and lemongrass, and you can use shrimp, fish, or mussels.
Steaming or Stir Frying
Steaming allows the pure flavor of seafood to come across. Stir fry dishes like crab in tamarind sauce and squid with fish sauce will bring forth the bold flavor of the locals.

Muc Mot Nang. Sun Dried Squid
This is my personal favorite. Muc Mot Nang is freshly caught squid dried out for one day in the sun and grilled until it’s chewy, sweet, and smoky.
Tip: locals often snack on it with spicy dipping sauce and a chilled beer, and on the beach, this is unbeatable!

Banh Xeo. Vietnamese Pancake
Golden, crispy, and stuffed with shrimp, pork, and bean sprouts. Wrap it in rice paper with herbs, dip it into sweet fish sauce, and you will quickly understand why Banh Xeo is loved by many!

Conclusion
Food is an important part of the culture in Danang. Eating these dishes is as big as visiting the beaches. From a bowl of Bun Cha Ca to grilled squid from the sea and everything in between. Every bite is part of the story of the city.
